BE upgrades Value package to 12Mbps

Manoj Solanki, Thursday October 14, 2010 - 6:43 PM

The ISP BE broadband has announced an upgrade from 8Mbps to 12Mbps of its entry-level broadband package.

Famous for being one of the first providers to advertise faster broadband services (up to 24 Mbps headline speeds), BE is offering the new speeds on the Value package  to all new customer sign-ups, or to existing customers who sign a new contract.  The cost remains at £13.79 per month and comes with an upload speed of 1.3Mbps.

The “Value” package can also be bought as part of a bundle of phoneline and broadband which was launched just a few weeks ago.  This costs costs £23.29 per month and includes the line rental as well as broadband.

Those who do not receive line speeds of 8Mbps however, would not benefit from any upgrade, so BE itself advises those customers not to contact them about an upgrade.  However for those customers who are unaware of the maximum speed available, it might be still worth enquiring.

In all, for those looking to sign-up to a simple and lower cost broadband package, BE Value is certainly a strong contender.  As well as value for money, BE has a good reputation for customer service and general reliability.
