Virgin Media to triple number of retail stores

Manoj Solanki, Monday June 1, 2009 - 3:50 PM

As part of a three-year expansion plan, Virgin Media is to increase its presence on the high street.

The plans include setting up Virgin Media shops as well as new “retail lite” sites intended to increase awareness of broadband, television, phone and mobile packages.

Virgin Media is eyeing prominent city centre locations in Sheffield, Nottingham and Nuneaton.

It has recently opened own-brand stores in central Birmingham, Plymouth, Bromley, Leeds and Leicester.  It is due to add two new stores in London later this year.

Virgin Media currently offers up to 50Mbps broadband along with a range of TV, phone and mobile bundles.
