T-Mobile launches new Asus laptop plus mobile broadband bundle

T-Mobile has started up a “free” laptop plus mobile broadband bundle for £25 per month.
Not wanting to be left out of the free laptop and mobile broadband deals that are currently doing the rounds, T-Mobile is bundling an Asus Eee PC 904HD netbook with mobile broadband for £25 per month.

The basic spec of the Asus Eee PC 904HD laptop is: An 8.9 inch TFT screen, 1GB RAM (2GB max), 80GB hard drive, Windows XP plus integrated WiFi and Webcam.  The Mobile Broadband subscription offers a free USB Modem Stick, 3GB of usage and WiFi access at hotspots around the country.  As with most other laptop bundles, you’ll be taking out a 24 month contract.

The offer competes most directly with Orange’s free Asus laptop and mobile broadband bundle.  Orange offers the Asus Eee 901PC netbook with its mobile broadband service for £25 per month.  This has the same size screen, memory (RAM) and comes with Windows XP.  One of the key differences is that the Asus Eee 901PC only offers 16GB of storage, compared to 80GB on the 904HD.

The Orange laptop however has mobile broadband built-in, so there is no need to plug in the USB dongle.  Convenient, unless you plan to use the mobile broadband connection on more than one computer.
