Orange experiences strong mobile broadband sales

Orange has released its latest Digital Media Index report for the period August to September 2008.

The stats show that 3G dongle subscriptions were up a rather hefty 2,139 percent.  This is compared with the period November 2007 to January 2008.  Despite a slow start for Orange in the 3G mobile broadband market, the company appears to be showing an improvement over the past year.

However, this rise could also be due to the general rising popularity of dongles in 2008.

Mobile data usage overall almost doubled over the last quarter, through USB dongles and advanced mobile handsets.

Social networking using mobile access has also risen significantly, with Orange recording over 166 million page impressions per month on average for accessing sites such as Facebook.
