UK Online partners with Microsoft to offer business class e-mail
Manoj Solanki, Monday January 21, 2008 - 8:00 AMUK Online has announced it will be adding Microsoft Exchange 2007 and web-hosting to its Premier Broadband package.
The services are aimed at small businesses who require business class email services. Users will be able to access e-mail, calendar and contacts from an interface similar to Outlook on their web browser. The data will be stored remotely on a secure Outlook Exchange 2007 server with backups.
Business class email services are traditionally only available to larger companies, but UK Online aims to offer similar services to smaller businesses within a price range that is affordable.
UK Online is also introducing a new website builder service (in conjunction with iomart) to help small businesses build and maintain their own website. A useful addition perhaps for those who simply want to knock up a simple website consisting of a few pages.
Chris Stening, Managing Director at UK Online, said: “Many small businesses use consumer grade POP3 email which limits how and when they can access their email. More importantly, they run the risk of losing all their emails & contacts if their PC or laptop hardware fails. Microsoft Hosted Exchange is the best business-strength e-mail there is.”
The new services will be available from March 2008. Visit UK Online for further information on their packages and to register
