Free UK WiFi access for T-Mobile Web’n’Walk customers

T-Mobile has announced that it will offer inclusive access to over 1,200 WiFi hotspots with its popular Web’n’Walk mobile broadband price plans.

New customers will automatically get WiFi access in over 1,200 WiFi hotspots, in locations including Starbucks coffee shops, airports, main-line train stations and service stations across the UK.  Speeds of up to 8Mbps are available.

Prices for Web’n’Walk start from £12.50 per month if you have a “Flext” mobile phone contract.  This allows you to use your mobile phone to access the Internet through your laptop.  Users will need a compatible 3G mobile phone, a list of which can be found at the T-Mobile website.

Alternatively users without a T-Mobile contract can buy a Web’n’Walk mobile broadband product from £20 per month that offers broadband on the go for your laptop with inclusive WiFi access.  T-Mobile states that it is the only mobile operator that currently includes WiFi access with its mobile broadband price plan.

Without T-Mobile’s web’n’walk price plan, WiFi access can cost from £5 for 60 minutes of occasional use, or £10 per month for T-Mobile customers and £20 per month for non-T-Mobile customers.

“We’ve already built a market-leading high-speed 3G network nationwide, now we’re strengthening our lead in mobile broadband by adding our wi-fi HotSpots to web’n’walk Plus / Max price plans,” said Richard Warmsley, T-Mobile’s Head of Internet on the Move.  “So as well as comprehensive 3G HSDPA coverage, you can be sure of a fast connection where it matters most.”

T-Mobile also recently announced a deal with 3 Mobile to integrate their 3G access networks, which will give both companies almost complete population coverage in the UK for 3G services such as mobile broadband.
