BT Vision announces sports selection

Manoj Solanki, Monday July 16, 2007 - 7:47 AM

BT have announced the pricing of its sports package.

The BT Vision Sport service is available to any BT Total Broadband subscribers and starts from £4 a month for the standard package.  This offers near-live action of 242 Premier League matches.

However, it is also available without subscription and instead BT Vision customers can pay on demand at £1.99 per match.

A deal with Irish broadbcaster Setanta brings “Setanta Sports” to the service at £9.99 per month.  This includes 46 live Premier League matches as well as live US PGA Golf, European League Football and Boxing.  A combination of this and the standard package is also available at £12 per month.

Dan Marks, BT Vision CEO, said: “We’re a sports-loving nation and ordinary fans shouldn’t be priced out of the action. Millions of fans have resisted subscription services to date and so we feel there’s a substantial gap in the market. Highlights on Match of The Day are fine but many fans want more, particularly those who follow teams that aren’t often featured live. BT’s unique mix of live and on demand sport means there is something for everyone, at prices people can afford and on the terms they choose.”
