BT Vision now available as self install option
Manoj Solanki, Thursday November 8, 2007 - 11:37 AMBT has announced a cheaper self install option for BT Vision.
The self install option is available for one-off connection fee of £30. Customers can save £60 by choosing this option as it avoids an engineer visit. BT says that installation is straightforward and should not take more than an hour.
The BT Vision package consists of the V-box plus a pair of Comtrend Powerline Adaptors that plug into wall power sockets. These connect the V-box up with BT’s home hub. BT Vision requires the user to have BT Total Broadband present, as it carries the on-demand video content to the V-box.
Dan Marks, BT Vision CEO, commented, “We know that most people have their main TV in the living room and their PC elsewhere in the home. By using the Powerline adaptors, customers can connect the V-box to their BT Home Hub wherever it is in the home without requiring an engineer visit.”
The V-box itself combines Freeview TV, a built-in digital television recorder and the option of on-demand content including films and sports events.
