Plusnet top for broadband satisfaction in survey

Manoj Solanki, Tuesday July 3, 2007 - 9:50 AM

According to a survey, Plusnet is top for satisfaction whilst Orange is bottom.

The YouGov survey commissioned by USwitch of 10,500 internet customers, showed that Plusnet had the highest satisfaction rating at 78%, closely followed by AOL, Sky and Virgin Media at 76%.  At the other end, Orange (65%) and TalkTalk (69%) came out worst.

A common theme with dissatisfied customers appears to be connection issues and service downtime.  Many customers also have to make many phonecalls to customer support.  A quick look at popular message boards confirms this current trend and many customers are angry at how much it is costing them to make these calls.

A BBC watchdog poll of 50,000 viewers earlier this year also scored Orange and TalkTalk near the bottom for customer satisfaction.

However, an Orange spokesperson told USwitch: “We acknowledge the findings of this survey but moreover listen to our customers and as a result, are aware that some of them have experienced service and technical issues over the past few months. We would like to reassure them that we work as effectively as possible to resolve their complaints. We also apologise to those customers who have experienced problems.”

TalkTalk were not available for comment at the time of publication.
